Leqzie Elevates the Soundscape: Set to Release New Single “STAY” on April 26

In the ever-evolving world of Afrofusion, certain voices carry not just rhythm, but a resonating depth that makes you pause and listen. One such voice is Aderiye Olamide Olalekan, better known by his stage name Leqzie—a rising talent whose music speaks volumes beyond the lyrics. As anticipation builds, Leqzie is poised to drop his next single, STAY, on April 26th—a track that not only showcases his artistic growth but affirms his commitment to delivering music that resonates deeply with listeners.

Known for his seamless blend of rich African rhythms and global influences, Leqzie has been steadily carving out a name in the independent music space. Tracks like Peace of Mind, Groove, and Wale Mi have introduced audiences to a sound that is both introspective and infectious—a delicate balance that he manages with effortless authenticity. With every release, Leqzie proves that he’s not just experimenting—he’s evolving.

In an exclusive interview, Leqzie reflected on the journey behind STAY, revealing its origins from several years ago. “I wrote this song sometime in 2019,” he shared. “I needed to do something unique from the previous ones I had done. I was just going through my notes, and I saw it. I felt the feelings again about the song. I knew I had to do this—with another vibe.”

That vibe, as he describes it, is not just different—it’s elevated. While he keeps the finer details of the song’s production under wraps, he confidently teases a refined sound that’s distinctly his own. “Nothing much,” he adds with a calm confidence, “they should expect Leqzie level with another level.”

And STAY is only the beginning. Leqzie also announced that the single will serve as a prelude to his upcoming EP, which is expected to drop shortly after. Though he remains tight-lipped on its title and themes, he assures fans that the project will explore deeper layers of his sound and story.

As he prepares for this next phase, Leqzie remains grounded in his inspirations. He credits Nigerian rap icon Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Baddo, as one of the key figures he looks up to. Known for his versatility, work ethic, and unapologetic cultural pride, Baddo’s influence is evident in Leqzie’s approach—bold, authentic, and ever-evolving.

Leqzie’s journey is not one of shortcuts or overnight success. It’s one of growth, reflection, and a clear vision for what he wants his music to represent. Whether it's the heartfelt calm of Peace of Mind, the upbeat flair of Groove, or the soulful depth of Wale Mi, each track is a reflection of his commitment to staying true to his sound while pushing creative boundaries.

With STAY, he isn’t just revisiting a song from his past—he’s reintroducing himself, armed with experience, emotion, and a matured artistry. It’s a moment of reconnection with his roots, but also a bold leap forward.

As the release date approaches, one thing is clear: Leqzie isn’t just adding another single to the catalogue. He’s setting the tone for a new chapter—one filled with intention, passion, and the kind of sound that stays with you long after the final note.

Stay tuned—Leqzie is only just getting started.
