Working under Odunlade Adekola had shaped my life: Pelumi Omoodun
Ola Media World: Good evening This is Ola MediaWorld, Can we meet you?
Pelumi Omoodun: Yeah, My name is Oluwapelumi Aluko Popularly known as Omoodunadekola, or Pelumi Omoodun.
Ola Media World: Your family and Educational background?
Pelumi Omoodun: I'm the last of a family of 5 children, 3 men, and two women. I had my education in Ekiti state, from my primary school to the university level.
Can I go ahead and mention those schools?
Ola Media World: Yes you can
Pelumi Omoodun: I attended Bright Hope Nursery and Primary School Ado Ekiti, for my secondary education, I attended Shepherd International College, also in Ado Ekiti, and for the university, I attended Ekiti State University, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in History and International Studies
Ola Media World: Are you a content creator or an actor?
Pelumi Omoodun: Na collabooo😂😂, I'm an actor as well as a content creator, acting is my first love. And I'm currently undergoing training at Odunlade Adekola Films Production. (OAFP)
Ola Media World: What can you say about your semblance with Odunlade Adekola?
Pelumi Omoodun: It's crazy ooo. I hear a lot from people that we look alike, even some people go as far as telling me I need to ask my mom some questions if she ever crossed parts with Amb. Odunlade's dad 😂😂😂. It's really crazy
Ola Media World: That's where the name Omo Odun came from?
Pelumi Omoodun: Yeah.. obviously.
Apart from the said resemblance. I'm also under his tutelage. Hence.. the Omoodunadekola
Ola Media World: Do you enjoy the fame that comes with the resemblance?
Pelumi Omoodun: Of course.. I do.
Ola Media World: Why acting?
Pelumi Omoodun: Acting has been my childhood dream. I've always wanted to be on the screen. I don't think I've ever dreamed of any other thing apart from acting
Ola Media World: What would you have done if you didn't act?
Pelumi Omoodun: Dunno really. But maybe I'd probably would be working in one of those offices or companies in Lagos
Ola Media World: Your most memorable moment?
Pelumi Omoodun: As an actor or in my entire life?
Ola Media World: Both
Pelumi Omoodun: As an actor, the day I got my first feature in a Saamu Alajo Episode. I was so happy that I couldn't wait till the episode started showing. Entirely, when I gained admission into the University. Because I have really waited for long. I had delay
Ola Media World: How did you feel when you gained admission into Odunlade Academy?
Pelumi Omoodun: Ah. Gaining admission into Odunlades academy isn't something that's easy, because over a hundred and nearly 200 candidates would come for the interview and just about 30-35 would be selected. I've been trying to join this academy since 2016.. attended another interview in 2018, another in 2020, then I finally joined in 2022😂😂. It's crazy I must say. But it's actually worth it
Ola Media World: You mentioned that you were featured in Saamu Alajo. How did you get the gig and how did you feel when you got to feature on the series?
Pelumi Omoodun: Once you're in OAFP. Saamu Alajo series is more or less like where we warm ourselves up for the outside world. It's like a training ground for us. That platform is a great opportunity for OAFP students because many academies in the movie industry don't have such an opportunity. And my first on Saamu Alajo set, I felt so nervous. I've anticipated for that moment a lot.
Ola Media World: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Pelumi Omoodun: In five years, I see myself continuing to push the boundaries of my craft, by exploring different genres, and collaborating with many top stars. I'll be open to many opportunities. Be it filmmaking, content creation.. or anything that has to do with the entertainment industry
Ola Media World: Who is your role model and why did you choose the person?
Pelumi Omoodun: Odunlade Adekola, I just love the way he interprets his role. I watched him growing up.
Ola Media World: What advice do you have for the younger generations?
Pelumi Omoodun: They should keep working and believing in their craft. And most importantly, pray to God
Ola Media World: Thank you for your time.
